Marsha Karle spent her career watching wild places closely — 23 years with the National Park Service, including over a decade as chief of public affairs in Yellowstone. Along the way, watching turned into painting. She started with a sketchbook on hikes and ski trips, and by the time she retired in 2004, art had become a main event.

Her work carries that same patient attention now: barns, back roads, and the wildlife that shares the landscapes. She’s also collaborated with her husband, writer Paul Schullery, on books pairing his words with her artwork. Her work has shown in juried exhibitions and regional galleries, and she’s donated pieces over the years to support local causes.​
